Hypnotherapy

Although hypnosis is the oldest Western form of psychotherapy there is a wealth of mistrust surrounding it and myths that still linger. Mention the word ‘hypnosis’ and thoughts instantly fly to stage shows, charlatans and trickery, swinging watches and magic. I would like to allay some of the myth and mystery surrounding this much maligned therapy.

In the many years I have been using hypnosis I have seen for myself the increased benefits to health which can be brought about by the power of the mind.

So, what is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a very pleasant experience, wonderfully relaxing, a natural manifestation of the mind at work.    Hypnosis is a non-addictive and positive power for healing, a state of deep relaxation and heightened awareness.

In this altered state of consciousness the mind is able to suspend rigidly held beliefs and, we have a heightened responsiveness to suggestion.

Hypnosis is a totally natural, perfectly safe method of treatment, is non-addictive and has no unpleasant side effects.

All sessions are tailored to individual need and, because of that, I have a high success rate.   These days, most of the people who find their way to my consulting room have been referred to me by a previous client.   I am dedicated to the ethical use of hypnosis, specialising in Smoking Cessation, Weight Control and Phobias.

Listed  are just some of the wide range of problems, which can be treated by Hypnotherapy:

  • Smoking
  • Excess Weight
  • Anxiety
  • Phobias
  • Fear of Travelling
  • Exam/Test Anxiety
  • Dental Fears

Below are answers to the questions I am frequently asked by my clients:

Are Drugs or Tablets Used ?          No.

Is There Any Cause for Concern ?   None whatsoever, Hypnosis is a proven therapeutic aid.

Will I be Aware of What’s Happening ?         Yes.

Most people mistakenly feel that ‘It didn’t work for me – I  didn’t go under’.

Could I be Influenced to do Anything Against my Will or Nature ?          No.   In fact you would be shocked out of the hypnotic state immediately any such action was suggested to you.

A person cannot be ‘sent’ for hypnotherapy and therefore it is regretted that hypnotherapy appointments cannot be booked by a third party.
